Folkdancing

We have been learning two folk dances as part of our Phys Ed programme.
With lots of boys in our class I had to teach how to skip first, it was quite an entertaining
session!!
Once we mastered skipping we learnt to listen to the music and move in time to it.
Another tricky skill for some!
The dances were Plaskavic Kolo from Yugloslavia ( Croatia ) and Jibidi from France.
In the end most of the children loved the experience.

Folk dancing

Here we are practising a folk dance from Croatia.
The boys had to learn to skip and sidestep correctly first!!
Lots of funny moves but we got there in the end.

Tornados in Room One

During Science with Mrs O'Leary, we made tornadoes in bottles
and looked at real life tornadoes on our Activboard.
It was quite amazing!!

Stu Duval story Teller and Artist

The Junior School loved listening to Stu's story about a Book Monster who liked living on bookshelves in houses where children love reading books. He used music to help tell his story and add atmosphere to the story too.
Then ... Stu taught us all some cartoon drawing starting from a single letter or a number.
Ask us to show you all about it. The resulting cartoon pictures were fantastic and all very different!

Cole's story about T Rex

In the weekend I saw a T Rex and it nearly ate me.
My Mum saved me. I was stuck.
I was still alive.

A story about my friend.

I went to my friend's house. It had flowers and plants. My friend's name is Julia.
I live next door to her. I go to her house. It's not a long way. I just...
walk to her house. I have fun with her. She gives me stickers.
She's a good friend to me. She invited me to her birthday.
I gave her a loom band and then secretly I made it. It had a pattern, it went ...
blue, green, blue, green. It was shaped. It went everywhere. It went on my head.
Everybody laughed at me. I fell over. It did not hurt. I laughed,  everybody laughed
 and I laughed again.

A terrific story by Harlem
